Julia, an American artist and graphic designer, resides in Guanacaste, Costa Rica. Her connection with this country began in 1999 during her first visit when she not only developed a deep love for the surroundings but also for a boy. In the subsequent years, Julia and the boy, who later became her husband, embraced a nomadic lifestyle, bouncing between the surf and beaches of Costa Rica and the snow-covered mountains of Colorado. The family dynamics shifted with the birth of their son in Costa Rica in 2006, prompting a move back stateside to Texas where their daughter joined the family. Finally, in 2016, they made the long-desired decision to return to Costa Rica permanently.
Born in Colorado into a family of artists, Julia studied printmaking at Texas State University. However, it wasn’t until her family’s permanent relocation to Costa Rica that she fully dedicated herself to developing her fine art career.
Apart from working on her own projects, Julia enjoys building websites, designing logos, and taking on fine art commission work for clients. Her style is eclectic, with a main theme centered around the rich culture and pura vida vibe of Costa Rica.
The media used in most of her pieces includes acrylic, watercolor, and ink on canvas or paper, as well as digital productions.
